Cream cheese ensaymada French toast

GET IT READY

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • skillet or griddle

GATHER IT

Filling:

  • organic cream cheese
  • powdered sugar

Toast:

  • thick slices brioche loaf
  • 2 pcs eggs
  • 1/2 cup organic full-cream milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • unsalted butter, for frying
  • shredded cheese
  • sugar

MAKE IT

Filling:

Mix the softened organic cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. ​

Toast:

  1. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese onto the bread slice. ​
  2. Whisk the eggs, organic full-cream milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt together.​
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter.​
  4. Dip each bread slice into the egg-milk mixture and soak each side for a few seconds. ​
  5. Place the soaked bread slice on the heated skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy on each side.​
  6. Transfer the toast to a serving plate. ​
  7. Top it off with shredded cheese and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.​
