EU Organic Dairy PH

Maintaining an active and balanced lifestyle with organic European dairy

Behind every glass of organic European dairy is a commitment to care and high quality. Complying with the highest production standards, it is free from additives, artificial flavorings, colorants, or sweeteners. It comes from cows that are naturally raised in organic farms, which means that every drop of milk is as pure and clean as it gets. This makes organic European dairy a smart and wholesome choice for consumption.

Denmark is one of the largest organic dairy producers in Europe. Milk is strongly ingrained in their eating habits, and they typically consume it with bread and cereal for breakfast. In fact, Danish dietary guidelines recommend consuming 250 ml of milk (one glass) per day as part of a balanced diet.

According to Merete Myrup, Director of Dairy Nutrition at the Danish Dairy Board, milk is a natural source of calcium, phosphorus, B-Vitamins, and iodine, which are necessary for the development and maintenance of the body.

Last August 15, 2025, the EU Organic Dairy PH campaign hosted their annual press event in Manila. During this event, panel speaker Jeaneth Aro, Olympic and Elite Performance Nutrition Coach, highlighted how the same nutrients make organic European dairy an ideal choice for sports recovery. She said prioritizing whole foods such as milk can help athletes with their training and maximize their performance.

“There’s a misconception that in professional sports, nutrition is just supplementation, but the truth is we need to consume whole foods. This is why organic European dairy deserves the spotlight: it is naturally good, minimally processed, available, and accessible.” she said.

She recommends that organic European dairy to be included as a part of a balanced diet to complement an active lifestyle. To become more active, there are little ways to integrate physical activities into one’s routines. For example, set a reminder to get up and stretch during breaks.

If you need to drive somewhere, park a little further away than you need to add extra activity. Take the stairs instead of the lift of walk up escalators when you get the chance. Whether it’s steps or distance, you can track them daily in a notebook or apps. Setting a daily target and hitting them will also be rewarding.

How organic European dairy is naturally good for bodies

According to Coach Jeaneth, organic European milk can be a natural source of carbohydrates, and two types of proteins: whey and casein. Here’s a closer look at how they function.

Carbohydrates Carbohydrates can fuel the body in the form of lactose, an energy source also found in sports drinks.
Whey Whey contains essential amino acids, which can facilitate muscle recovery and reduces soreness to help the body recharge for upcoming training sessions. Easily digestible, it is ideally taken post-workout.
Casein

Casein can be ideal before going to sleep. According to research by the American College of Sports Medicine, consuming casein before bed balances the body’s protein levels throughout the night.

When protein levels stay consistent, muscles can continue to grow and recover, even while you’re not eating.

Milk is also a key hydration beverage that Coach Jeaneth recommends drinking after training. It not only has the balance of electrolytes (including sodium and potassium), proteins, and carbohydrates to help the body absorb and retain fluids longer, but also contains calcium, magnesium, and chloride to replenish the energy and nutrients lost from workouts.

Coach Jeaneth also suggested ways to include organic European dairy in one’s diet. Those who do endurance training such as cycling, running, and swimming can blend dairy into smoothies. They can also use it as a base for overnight oats for quick meals during breakfast.

Organic European milk can also be paired with bread slathered with cream cheese for additional supply of carbohydrates or with boiled egg to boost strength, which is ideal for strength training and weightlifting.

In a nutshell, milk naturally contains nutrients that the body needs for recovery and sports performance. It has the whole food matrix, which Coach Jeaneth refers to as “the composition of milk as a whole” that supports overall digestion and distribution of nutrients in the body.”

At the end of her talk, coach Jeaneth emphasized again the importance of choosing a food-first approach, one that’s not just naturally good for the body but benefits everyone as well.

“It [organic European milk] is produced using only natural and sustainable methods. There’s a peace of mind that when you consume it, you’re doing something good for the environment and the planet. The small choices you make today matter tomorrow,” she concluded.
